Life is like a Symphony….
This month, we thought we would feature the most popular of our white wines – our Symphony. The Symphony grape is a California crossing of Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris, developed in 1948 but commercially released in 1982. It is a light white wine with both floral and citrus notes, especially grapefruit. Symphony is an easy wine to fall in love with, particularly as the weather warms up. I enjoyed writing the message on the back of our Symphony labels, and tried to pay tribute to some precious musicians in our family. Here is what it says: “Life is a symphony and we each play a part in its orchestra. While we may occasionally miss a beat or strike a dissonant chord, we also find great joy in the beautiful harmony produced through the various movements. May your life’s symphony be a beautiful ensemble of all that you love.” We hope you’ll stop by soon for a glass of our Symphony!
Some happenings going on at the winery this month – we are hosting our first Firepit Friday of the season on Friday, March 7. The corn hole crew is warming up their arms and the fire pits are coming out of storage. Hope to see you there! We also have an exclusive four-course dinner and wine pairing taking place at Ben’s Friends in Rio Vista on Saturday, March 8. If interested, you can call the winery for details. Saturday, March 15, will be our first wine club pick-up party of the year. Along with our featured wines, we will be enjoying a variety of different chilis and cornbread while listening to music from the popular Working Class Band! Should be an amazing day and additional details will follow. Toward the end of the month, we are hosting a couple of private events, so check out our winery hours for temporary changes. Additionally, something to save the date for – we will be hosting an outside concert the evening of Friday, May 16 featuring the extremely popular Mr. Donovan Bryant! We are excited to be hosting him and the evening will include wine and food trucks. Ticket information is available at the winery.
With the wine club pick-up party event approaching, we will be working to put together everyone’s party packages. Please give us a call if you need to update your credit card information or if your card has changed. We appreciate your assistance with this bookkeeping detail.
Lastly, as mentioned last month, both Brandon and Brock have been featured as “Maverick Winemakers” in a publication produced by the Winegrape Commission. We are proud of them and have copies of the article at the winery…. (okay, maybe LOTS of copies!)
We hope to see you all soon and as always, thank you for your support of Twisted Barrel Winery!
Cheers,
Denise Warmerdam
