What a difference a month makes!

I am still in somewhat of a fog from the whirlwind of this past month. But, what a blessed month it has been! Little Miss Indi Larae Rose was born on August 30th. She weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs 4 oz., but is now well over 8 lbs. She’s absolutely adorable and we are all in love with little Grand #9! Mom and dad are doing well, too! A little sleepy, but holding up.

And, yes! Our baby got married! After a two year engagement, Brock and Megan had a beautiful ceremony on Sept. 23 at The Gardens in Sutter Creek. We had a wonderful weekend filled with family and friends. Truly, nothing could have gone better and we are joyful in welcoming Megan into our tribe. We just hope she’s ready for the crazy Warmerdams!

Harvest has begun this past month as well. What an odd year this has been with struggling to get enough sugar in the grapes. Most of the whites are currently being picked and hopefully, the reds follow suit. Weather is being watched closely and prayers are being said that the rain holds off until the harvest is complete. You will soon see vats of fermenting grapes sitting around at the winery – and of course, the persistent fruit flies that accompany the process.

October will be a busy month here at Twisted Barrel. Friday, October 6 is our next Firepit Friday. We’ll begin at 5:30 pm and will be entertained by our favorite musical duo, Annie and Greg of She Calls Him Wilson. We will be celebrating Brock and Megan and will be serving a fun variety of wedding cakes to our guests. Hope you can make it! Then, October 21 will be our next wine club pick-up party! We will be enjoying the music of an amazing young man, Mr. Zachary Campos. We will also be pairing our new Teroldego with some sausage, homemade spaetzle, sauerkraut and fixings. This is a party you won’t want to miss!

Looking forward to November, here are some things that may be of interest to you…We will be participating in the Tour of Tempranillo weekend Nov. 11 and 12 here in Lodi. Information on that is available through the Winegrape Commission. Our popular Winemaker Dinner will be held November 18 here at Twisted Barrel. Ticket information will be available shortly for this 5-course dinner paired with some of our best wines. Watch your email as tickets are limited. And, we will once again host a special Black Friday “1/2 off every case” sale on Nov. 24.

As we always mention, we appreciate your support of Twisted Barrel. And, we appreciate all of you that have reached out with kind words and sentiments as we celebrated this past month. You truly are part of our family!

Cheers,
Denise Warmerdam
