It’s Cherry Season!
Wow! It seems like we just did this! And actually, the cherries are a bit late this year. Marc is busy with harvest and has provided some delicious cherries for sampling at the winery. They pair very well with our popular TreLiscious blend!
So much has happened since our May newsletter and we have so much coming up as well! First, we want to thank everyone that attended our first-ever “Twisted Concert”. We had a sold-out crowd of over 130 people and everyone enjoyed our country-crooner! The evening, however, was not without incident. Just as we were starting, our youngest son Brock experienced his first (and hopefully last!) seizure. Very scary situation! Of course, as the mom, I was a mess. Megan, Brock’s wife, was stellar in her care and in addressing the paramedics. They were whisked away by ambulance, but not before our amazing “Twisted Family” gathered around Brock. Some clapped as he came to, others joined hands and prayed, and I stood with tears watching our amazing friends and customers come together to support our family. I will be forever grateful! Brock is doing well. They have attributed the incident to dehydration, but he is still meeting with Drs. to make sure all is well. We appreciate everyone that has reached out with concern and good wishes. We are truly blessed by each of you!
And now, to something more upbeat! This Friday, June 6, will be a Firepit Friday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Along with some amazing wine, we will enjoy some homemade cherry cobbler. The cornhole was back in swing last month and we have some new champions to be knocked off the winners list! Hope you can join us. The winery will be closed on Saturday, June 28, for a private event, but back open on the 29th for our regular hours. Our next wine club pick-up party will be July 19 – save the date! This one will be a brunch from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., always a good time! And, we are working hard on our next “Twisted” event…. On August 29 we will be hosting a “Night of Nostalgia” featuring Mr. John Wayne, Mr. Blue Suede Shoes – Elvis, and an amazing Sinatra entertainer. Watch for details – we will be selling VIP tables and general admission tickets as before. If you just can’t wait, (our VIP tables did sell-out quickly last time!), call the winery for ticket information.
As the weather heats up, please know we are always happy to share a glass of wine and a cool atmosphere for you to enjoy it! Our chilled Chenin Blanc is perfect on these warm days. Grab a friend and come and relax! And as always, we appreciate your support of Twisted Barrel Winery!
Cheers,
Denise Warmerdam
