The Mavericks…….

Most of you recognize Brock and Brandon – our oldest and youngest sons. While Brock takes the lead, is trained in winemaking and has a degree in Enology, Brandon has become his partner in producing all of our new wines. Brandon, too, has studied agriculture and works as Deputy Superintendent at Woodbridge Irrigation District. He’s made wine as a hobby for years and is now saddled up with Brock for Twisted Barrel’s production. These two will be featured soon as up and coming “Mavericks” in a publication by the Lodi Winegrape Commission. They also just received Silver Medals for their Alicante Bouschet, Teroldego and Petite Verdot in the San Francisco Chronicle’s wine competition. This was their first attempt at entering Twisted Barrel wines into a competition. Proud of them? You bet!!

After having the winery closed during the holidays for bottling, we’ve been enjoying welcoming everyone back. The winery has been cleaned and polished and it’s nice to have things back in order. The guys are proudly showcasing their new award-winning wines and our new Malbec continues to be a crowd favorite. Of course, with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, our TreLiscious blend is a perfect wine to serve with its “Hot Lips Houlihan” label. Our Sparkling  Rose is also available to add to the romance as well.

Our first Firepit Friday of the year will be March 7 at 5:30 pm. Corn hole competitors – warm up those arms! Something new for us – we have been invited to participate in a wine pairing event at Ben’s Friends of the Vine in Rio Vista on Saturday, March 8. Ticket information is available by calling Ben’s Friends at (707) 378-2955. Also, our first Wine Club Pick-Up of 2025 will be Saturday, March 15. We have the popular Working Class Band scheduled to help make it a party, so save the date!

We invite you all to swing by sometime soon to sample our new wines. With the chilly, wet weather that February brings, we have just the spot for you to cuddle up with a glass of wine. And as always, thank you for your support of Twisted Barrel Winery.

Cheers,
Denise Warmerdam
